Getting our share of Spanish lessons by necessity. Today we learned how to describe in Spanish a mechanic who replaces car windows. Car was broken into last night. We don´t leave much in the car, so nothing valuable to take - just our tent and cooking gear. But replacing a window on a Subaru - a car nobody here ever sees - is tricky.
Luck of all possible luck, about 15 km from here is Chimaltenango, which looks like the mechanic capital of Guatemala. We just drove from shop to shop until we found the one that does car windows. We have to wait overnight while they get a window from Guatemala City, but we´re quite relieved that we don´t have to go to Guatemala City ourselves. All reports say it´s an ugly town that´s quite dangerous.
So here we are for another day and night in Antigua. Beautiful place. Still a few museums we haven´t seen yet. It´s a beautiful day, sunny, bright blue sky, puffy white clouds, about 78 degrees F, mountains and volcanoes on all sides. And we´ve learned more Spanish without a single class.

Hola Luis, the Volcans say hola back to you. Antigua is the most beautiful city! I hope you get to come back and visit often. We are loving your city. Probably won´t have time for Spanish classes. Now we wish we had started here with classes. We´ve had to learn a lot of Spanish the hard way. Thanks very much for your comment!
Perhaps it was the window mechanics themselves that did the breaking?
